Discovered this instrument quite by chance while searching for one thing else. After take a seem to be ating it over and recalling my frustration trying to figure out where the right spot to stop filling was at with a normal canning funnel, I determined it used to be worth buying because the retailer has a just right return policy, plus on the label it evidently says "Satisfaction assured." Within a couple hours I had completed a few batches of canning and definitely love this canning funnel. First, the cut-out lets in sighting of the product inside the jar because it reaches the proper kind fill degree. Great!! It matchs well on regular and large mouth jars (even half-pint jars), is simple to quick transfer to the subsequent jar as soon as the fast jar is properly filled. Although I did not sit down it on the counter between jars, it does take a seat secure and smartly above the countertop so sticky jams/jellies, and so on. do not get left on the countertop. I've been finding out the need for the CORRECT quantity of head area in canning jars. I've also been studying that my private eye-balling is some distance from accurate. This funnel can sit up by using itself between uses and means that you can test that you have allowed the perfect amount of head house. With certain foods, over-loading can result in the jars to break. Under-filling (usually with liquid) can result in the exposed prime of the canned food to oxidize and appear unattractive.

This is an awfully, very good funnel. Previously, I used on of the typical plastic funnels for filling my jars. It was once at all times a guessing sport about headspace. The little reduce out design in this funnel shows precisely where the extent is. There are measurement markings, however they may just be in reality more or less small to peer easily. It's a lot easier to eyeball the headspace through the cut out.
